Sustainable Development University Bicycle User Group
The Bicycle User Group was set up to encourage cycling to and from the University and between sites. We are a collection of cyclists who occasionally meet, but keep in contact through e-mail (select Bike User Group from the Global Address list). We are also strongly linked to the Cheltenham Cycle Campaign (CCC) which at the moment usually meets at 41 Beechurst Avenue, Eldon Road, Cheltenham, GL52 6TY, on the first Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm (see below). Please check their website for the latest details. The Cheltenham Cyclist The CCC produces a news magazine about cycling in Cheltenham about twice a year and this is emailed to BUG members. If you'd like to be on the mailing list, e-mail Richard Harper to have your name included. Past issues are listed below. Bike Purchase The University can assist staff in the purchase of bicycles. See here for details. Second hand bikes Second hand bikes are often available from the police auctions, usually on a Wednesday. Unfortunately their website is not working at the moment. Local bike shops Gloucestershire County Coucil has a list of local bike shops. CTC Cheltenham Cycle Map The latest Cheltenham Cycle Map should be available from campus reception desks. Copies can also be obtained from the Council Offices and from most local bike shops. Richard Harper also has some spare copies.
