BSc Applied Health Studies: Pass AHS350 and AHS353

Sub Awards at Level 6:

  • CPS: Flying Start England (Level 6: 30 CATS): AHS345
  • University Diploma in First Contact Care (Level 6: 60 credits): AHS325, AHS326, AHS327, plus one from AHS351, AHS350 or AHS322
  • Diploma in Palliative Care (Level 6: 60 credits): AHS321, AHS311, AHS315, plus one from AHS323, AHS322 or AHS350
  • CPS: Non-Medical Prescribing (Level 6: 45 credits): NMU301, NMU302, NMU303 (successful completion will enable application for registration as a V300 Prescriber with the NMC)

Notes: For AHS215 and CPS NMU Subject to variation to the University Academic Regulations for Taught Provision in order to adhere to professional regulatory body requirements as indicated in the award specification.
For CPS: Non-Medical Prescribing is normally completed within one year, with a maximum of 2 years. There is not a minimum time, but the NMC recommends one year.

Restrictions: Students registered on the Certificate in Professional Studies in Non-Medical Prescribing.Students should be employed within a health setting and work within a capacity where they have demonstrated competent practice within health assessment and diagnostics and could incorporate a prescribing role. They will require the support of their manager and a Designated Medical Practitioner (DMP) who will act as their supervisor.
