This module is designed for Health Practitioners and others who work within health care settings. The module is designed to support the students in developing the knowledge and skills required to work as autonomous practitioners. |

| Content Summary |
The module will cover the following topics: Ethics; Mental Capacity Act; Sharing of information; Working with different patient groups; Medico legal issues/Codes of Conduct; Critical event analysis; Job descriptions, professional indemnity and role boundaries; Policies/ guidelines and protocols. |
| Learning Outcomes |
By the end of the module students should have: a) analysed ethical and legal issues within the scope of their individual professional practice; b) critically analysed issues relating to accountability within the context of their role; c) demonstrated an understanding of the competencies required within the context of their role.
ii. Skills There will be an emphasis on the development of skills in: a) applying theory to practice within the working environment; b) reflective practice and self awareness. |
