Welcome to the Personal Development Planning website.
This site is designed to provide you with information, including resources and links, about Personal Development Planning (PDP) and to help you understand how PDP is delivered at the University of Gloucestershire.
PDP is defined as 'a structured and supported process undertaken by an individual to reflect upon their own learning, performance and/or achievement and to plan for their personal, educational and career development'. (HEA, 2007)
PDP is an essential element of all Higher Education programmes in the UK in the 21st century. The principles of PDP in Higher Education were established in the Dearing Report (1997) and the more recent work of the Quality Assurance Agency and Higher Education Academy. At the University of Gloucestershire, PDP has been part of every students’ programme of study since 2003/04. PDP forms a key part of the University’s Teaching, Learning and Assessment Strategy and links to the University’s agenda for employability and skills for lifelong learning.
