Practice Experience:

I started my social care career working in adult services working with adults with learning difficulties, moving to children’s services in 1999 to work as a child protection officer for the NSPCC investigating allegations made against professionals. In the year 2001 I moved from Manchester to London where I managed a children and families duty social work team with a specific remit to implement the framework for assessment, moving on to manage two hospital social work teams with a remit to implement the Laming Recommendations. I have since worked as a Senior Manager with responsibility for Children in Need, Family Support and Contact. My other work has included training and consultancy.
