Julia Newberry Positions Contact Julia joined the department in 2003. She previously studied as an undergraduate at the University before completing her M.Sc. in Quaternary Science at Royal Holloway, University of London. Julia’s main areas of interest lie within long term environmental change, its associated mechanisms and ecological changes. Her skills range from analytical analyses using ICP-OES for studying changes in chemical compounds and contaminants, to particle size analysis and nutrient cycling and levels. Along side her undergraduate teaching Julia supports laboratory practicals and consultancy projects. She also runs the Palynology Laboratory working with Patricia Wiltshire offering a processing service for forensic ecology. Julia also assists Pat at scenes of crime and at forensic laboratories across the country.
