Department of Natural and Social Sciences Centre for Research in Applied Cognition, Knowledge, Learning and Emotion (CRACKLE) Psychology staff and graduate students with a research interest in brain processes underlying aspects of cognition in applied contexts meet regularly in the Centre for Research in Applied Cognition, Knowledge, Learning and Emotion (CRACKLE) to discuss their research and develop collaborative projects. Current and recent research grant funds exceed £300,000 and have been obtained from British Academy, Headway Head Injury Trust, MoD Competition of Ideas as well as ESRC. Research programmes include:

A £247,500 grant from the MoD has been obtained by Graham Edgar, Di Catherwood, and Dritan Nikolla (CRACKLE) and Chris Alford (UWE) to study high-density EEG patterns associated with decisions about threatening intention in others.
