John Jurica, B.A., Ph.D., has been assistant editor of the Victoria County History of Gloucestershire since 1973 and recently appointed County Editor. He is currently the honorary  editor of the Transactions of the Bristol and Gloucestershire Archaeological Society.His published work for the Victoria County History includes over 36 parish histories and parts of histories of the City of Gloucester and the Forest of Dean. Other publications include A Calendar of the Registers of the Freemen of the City of Gloucester 1641—1838 (1991) and Gloucester: A Pictorial History(1994).
