Projects The Cyder Press
The Cyder Press is a small press, established by the University of Gloucestershire as an extension of the resources provided by the University’s existing Dymock Poets Archive & Study Centre. The principal function of the Press is to reprint long out-of-print or little-known works by the Dymock Poets themselves, and by other writers with cognate regional, literary or period connections. Each volume is introduced by a contemporary scholar. The Cyder Press now has about 25 publications in circulation and continues to expand with further new releases. The Press also publishes the Annual Laurie Lee Memorial Lecture, sponsored by the University in connection with the Cheltenham Literature Festival. In previous years people such as Valerie Grove, Andrew Motion, U. A. Fanthorpe, Terry Eagleton, and Jon Stallworthy have delivered the lectures. The Festival takes place in October each year and up-to-date details can be found on the website http://www.cheltenhamfestivals.co.uk. Any editorial enquiries can be addressed to The Department of Humanities, University of Gloucestershire, Francis Close Hall, Swindon Road, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire GL50 4AZ. (Telephone 01242 714692; E-mail cyderpress@glos.ac.uk). General enquires should be addressed to The Cyder Press at the same address (Telephone 01242 714692; E-mail cyderpress@glos.ac.uk). |
