The Estates department is responsible for the strategic planning development and management of the University's land and buildings in Cheltenham and Gloucester.

Estates Department comprises the following units:

The Estates department has the responsibility for the delivery of all new building and major refurbishment works indentified within the Estates Strategy. Nigel Wichall leads the Estates team and is able to provide a full service from inception to completion for major University projects. The Estates team is supported by external contractors when necessary.

Facilities Management

Andy Simpson asimpson@glos.ac.uk - is Head of Facilities and manages a number of central support services across the University. The department aims to provide these services in a manner which is effective and efficient, enhances the student and staff experience and supports the University in the achievement of its strategic objectives. Services include:

• Manned security provision
• Access control and CCTV
• Catering
• Transport (intersite buses, the post van and car parking)
• Waste management including recycling
• Cleaning
• Grounds maintenance.

Campus Management

Reception, cleaners, caretakers, timetabling and campus office staff dealing with all those daily issues including accidents and incidents, health and safety, keys, room use etc.

Commercial Services

Promotion of the external use of the University facilities - for meetings, conferences, weddings etc.

Health Safety and Environment

Fulfilling an advisory role directed towards assisting Faculties and Departments in developing and improving their systems and procedures for identifying and controlling health & safety risks and environmental impacts.
