IT-rich first floor Project Zone, for groups to develop projects and practice presenting, and whole class teaching sessions. Mostly clustered moveable seating and touch-screen whiteboards with linked computers and tablets. Accommodation for c50 students.
Scenario 2: Project Zone Students work in CeAL's project zone on presentations to be made in Spring 2008. Using data projection, the Tutor earlier established criteria for judging professional presentations. Now, each small group uses an interactive whiteboard and tabletPC to develop their presentation on a selected issue. Library material and their own ideas provide structure. Illustrative material is drawn from the web. The University's Career Management Centre Head is circulating too, offering specialist guidance; Module EL325 Environmental Issues in Geography, highlights career opportunities. Chairs are comfortable; the place is buzzing with discussion and everybody is focused.
