Where am I ? : Resources : Awards Ceremonies

Award Ceremonies:

Certificates

Most students collect their certificate at the annual Award Ceremonies in November (some specific Collaborative Partner exceptions to this are noted below).

If you do not attend your ceremony, your certificate will automatically be posted to your HOME ADDRESS (as shown on your student record) after the final ceremonies have been held
(please contact studentrecords@glos.ac.uk to update this address).

If you leave an out of date address on your student record and your certificate is posted and subsequently lost, you will be charged in order for a replacement certificate to be issued.

VISA / JOB APPLICATIONS:
If you require your award certificate for a specific, dated visa / job application prior to your award ceremony, please email awardcertificates@glos.ac.uk to request an application form or download it here -  Early Release of Certificate Form (81Kb MS Word)

COLLABORATIVE PARTNER COLLEGE STUDENTS:

Collaborative Partner College Students / Students who request the certificate in advance of the ceremony:

If you studied via a collaborative partner college based in London / Gloucester / outside the UK or have requested that your certificate is sent to you before the ceremonies, you WILL NOT have a certificate to collect on the ceremony day.

This does not alter the ceremony itself as the certificates are not collected on stage as part of the proceedings.

If you studied via a London-based college, your certificate will be sent to you by your college shortly after the final results are confirmed by them with the University. Please contact your college in the first instance if you have any queries.

You must ensure that you have checked your name on your University Record to ensure that it is shown and spelt correctly (there will be a charge to change documents once they have been printed).

OFFICIAL NAME
The formal, legal version of your name (i.e. that shown on your birth certificate / passport) has to be used on your certificate and in the ceremony programme.

The name that will be printed will be taken from the official name section on your Student Record (and as presented at the final Awards Board of Examiners where your award is formally conferred). Please check that this name is correct (in format - mixed case NOT capitals - and in spelling) on your student record before you leave the University.

It is the responsibility of every student to ensure that the details they supply to the university are correct and that the information on their student record is up to date. Charges may be levied for changes to official documents resulting from incorrect information having been left on the student record.

REPLACEMENT CERTIFICATES / CERTIFIED COPIES
The award certificate is a unique and valuable document which acts as verification of your final award. You must ensure that you look after it. Only one copy of the original award certificate can exist at any one time. For information regarding obtaining certified copies of your certificate for use in job / education applications or regarding obtaining a new certificate if the original has been lost, please visit our Student Records Archive pages.
